Dennis Yap is a Malaysian photographer who specializes in weddings and portraiture. He takes his work of art very seriously where each couple who engages him for photography on their big day are treated individually, often catering to their customized needs and requirements. Dennis’ would essentially offer his creativity and most innovative methods in capturing the special moments for couples who are about to get married where he exudes the ‘a photo speaks a thousand words’ slogan.

This is where you will truly enjoy Dennis’ work where he is able to snap the most subtle and natural shots be it an intimate exchange, peck on the cheek or any simple gesture which are often overlooked by the less experienced photographers. His experience will bring him to situations which seemed petty but important and significant nonetheless, often invoking important emotions during these events.

To Dennis, photography is an art where it can be used to express the reactions and emotions of the individual and hence he seeks out to achieve that during his assignments. Photography became a profession to Dennis after he figured that to shoot weddings required both creativity and technique to be effective and it is not only focused on the few significant events during a wedding which makes it important. Instead, there are thousands of other angles and events that are often neglected and Dennis strive to capture such moments.

As a contemporary photographer, Dennis ensures that he is kept abreast of the latest technology and techniques in photography in order to stay relevant and important to his customers. To him, wedding photography is very different from other forms of photography because it seeks to record the events of the whole affair and tells a pictorial story of the most important days of one’s life. This is where the spontaneity, natural and inspiring elements of Dennis’ art can be seen and demonstrated so beautifully, through his artistic techniques.
